In June, 14 of Nunavut’s 15 full time physicians came together for a continuing education event. This was the first event of its kind in this arctic territory in Canada, and it brought full time physicians working across Nunavut together to learn from and with each other about topics relevant to their practice, to socialize and to enhance their sense of working together as a team for Nunavut.
This event was a part of Canada’s Recruit and Retain – Making it Work Project, intended to support retention and team building among physicians in Nunavut. It will be repeated in 2018, and based on the evaluation of these two events, a sustainability plan will be developed for on-going continuing education opportunities in Nunavut.
